Hi
I have a Gigabyte GA-EP45T-Extreme Motherboard running a Intel Dual Core E8600 CPU
Now the specs says it can run 1600Mhz Memory.
Can someone tell me would the following memory be ok to run on my Motherboard: ???
Corsair Memory XMS3 8GB DDR3 1600 MHz CAS 9 Dual Channel Desktop
CMX8GX3M2A1600C9 - 8GB (2x4GB) Corsair XMS3 DDR3 PC3-12800 (1600), Non-ECC Unbuffered, CAS 9-9-9-27, 1.65V
Here is a link to the specs of the Memory:

Thanks.. ;D

Hi
Whilst the specs look alright there must be some reason why Corsair dont recommend them for use with your motherboard. The Corsair QVL for your board is here:

So for a 8GB upgrade would be ok for my Motherboard ?
Thanks

If you mean would the memory you linked to be ok then I would have to answer NO.
If you meant is any of the memory on the Corsair QVL ok for your motherboard the yes it is.

Sorry I meant to have said, what would be ok for a 8GB Memory upgrade for my Motherboard as in brand... :-\

Personally I would recommend Crucial or Corsair. Mushkin are very good but expensive. Both of the previous manufacturers have memory tools on their websites which allow you to choose the correct memory for your board.

Did a quick check with OCZ and its letting me use the following as well:
http://memoryselector.cnetchannel.com/ocztech/result.asp?fk_class=6569&manufacturer_id=781&model_id=682994 (http://memoryselector.cnetchannel.com/ocztech/result.asp?fk_class=6569&manufacturer_id=781&model_id=682994)
I really would like to use 1600mhz 8GB upgrade.
Or 4 x 2GB OCZ, as I use my computer for a lot of video editing and heavy use of 3D Games, so I need to get the best possible preformace out of it, I'm fine with my Graphics Card ATI 5870, But would prefer to have top preformace on memory as well.. mixing those memoryboards in my previous comments I knew something was not right and some of my games would crash out, now running 4GB of match pair is fine, but would prefer 8GB..

Personally I am not a great fan of OCZ memory recently. There have just been too many issues with members using it and it seems to have gone downhill in quality.

Its saying in the memory list for my Gigabyte Mobo that 1600mhz downgraded to 1333mhz am I reading this right
That if I was to buy some 1600mhz that I could only clock it at 1333mhz spd ???

Yes that's about the size of it.
