Title: Gigabyte X58-USB3 problems
Post by: dynamodr3w on December 05, 2010, 05:02:55 pm
need a firewire port..i use a PCI card for firewire..and the motherboard only has one slot..but its not recognizing anything i put in there. I try a network pci card or a firewire card it says in device manager (device could not be started) ..obviously its detecting the cards because it lists what it is under hardware but its failing to start the device. There is nowhere in the bios settings to enable/disable the PCI slot or assign IRQ channels etc.
what shall i do? I NEED my firewire port.
I have just a ATI HD 4650 graphics card in PCIeX16_1 , the PCI slot is between PCIex16_2 and PCIEx4_1
So i would assume it would share an IRQ with one of those slots...the only bios update they have for my board is a beta..should I try placing the video card in slot 2??

Hi and welcome to the Gigabyte Forum.

I don't think that moving your graphics card is the answer to be honest, in fact it might not even work in a different slot. You say that PCI is already enabled in  the BIOS.
Does your card need any special software or drivers for it to work?
