Title: 880ga-uh3d can't get it to boot
Post by: cad30 on December 08, 2010, 02:46:29 am
I just got all my components for the computer I am building, and I have hit a snag.  When I power up the lights the fans and the HD all run but I am not getting any video output for BIOS.  I have tried plugging my monitor in the integrated video and the radeon 5770 video card and no dice.

My rig.

880ga-ud3h motherboard
radeon 5770 1 mg video card
2-4gig ddr3 ripsaw
blue star 650w PS
AMD Phenom II 4X 955

I have tried every combo for the ram, like I said before I tried the integrated vid and the radeon and nothing. I am looking for any suggestions and what my next step will be. Thanks

Hi,

first thing I would check is your PSU. Although it is new it is at the low end and I have had new PSU's cause this kind of problem.

You said you tried both ports..
But did you pull the 5770 then power on?
If not try it with it removed...

Yes the PSU is junk to be honest! I wouldn't even trust it to power my fans. You must replace it with a decent quality power supply whether it is at the bottom of this problem or not as it is risking all your other components. :o
