I know it's a silly question but how can i tell what the differences are between rev 2.1 and 2.2? I just ordered one and i'm told i'm getting the 2.1. Is it not as good as the 2.2? I contacted gigabyte support but they havent come back with an answer.

Funnily enough, you can't. If anything, there may be some minor difference in the MB's specification on Gigabyte's site. Other than that, MB makers aren't very forthcoming about what's been changed with every revision.

It seems as though i really cant. I dont see any review that could mention that, there's also no word no their FAQ, nor do i see anything listed on the specifications that differentiates them. But this bugs me since i want to have control over my purchases, and i'm worrying it could be something important missing that could make me wish i had aqcuired the 2.2. Since it's already out and there's not something to just look forward to...

I really can't say in this particular case but normally it is better to have the older revisions as most boards have things trimmed off them as they progress. The manufacturer usually starts off with a well specced board and then once it is accepted and reviewed they see what they can save money on. I would say take the revision 2.1 board and be happy.

That's no doubt a smart way to look at it, but i still a definite answer would be what i am looking for. For example i just learned that 2.0 vs 2.1 doesnt have support for 1833MHz or greater of RAM. Not that i really need it, but at least i know what changed. Now there's word that 2.2 maybe better in energy efficiency, but i wont know till i talk with a gigabyte representative. Beside the gloabal gigabyte form where you ask and dont get answere to is there a more direct way to get information from technical stuff possibly?
Thanks. ;)

I'm afraid GGTS is the international service for technical information. You should get an answer but it usually takes a few days or more. The main trouble being whether they give you an answer that clarifies things! :-\

They answered me with a link telling me to see the product comparison page. But i've already seen it and the comparison turns up with no difference! Man this is a well kept secret.
-
The only thing I can suggest is to carry on with the question and say that you can't see any difference and can they point it out.
-
That's what i did. But i feel this should have been resolved by now.

Forever the optimist ;D
