Title: X58a-UD7 Rev 1.0 F5 Bios to F7
Post by: metal_god69 on December 19, 2010, 12:52:55 am
Howdy all
First off let me start by saying....I know I know, everyone says if it ain't broke don't fix it when it comes to Bios upgrades, but I would like to hear any experiences people have had with the X58A-UD7 Rev. 1.0 board and the newest non-beta bios F7?  Does F7 bring any performance advantages or anything usesfu that F5 doesn't havel?  The descriptions of the bios leaves more to be desired in terms of details.  I have had 0 problems with my UD7, what a dream board, 4.2GHz on my i7 920 D0 with 1.296v, I'm so impressed with this board.

Cheers,

Metal_god

New bios is always going to have a few tweaks and fixes, the change log is not as comprehensive as everyone would like as there is a lot of changes...........Yes if it ain't broke DON'T FIX IT!!!!!!!! If you do get the itch to update your bios please use Qflash and not @bios.

If it ain't broke just keep fixing it until it is LMAO  :P ;D

Hi and yes while I agree with both you and Fatman regarding the "why bother" idea if it is running happily I can say there is absolutely nothing wrong with the F7 BIOS version from my point of view. I have been running it for quite a while now and haven't had any hiccups at all.

I agree my board is the same and I have been reluctant to upgrade my BIOS everything has been fine except for my backup program Acroinis 10 & 11--trouble loading then BOD any time I tried to use it so I have used the Rescue disc from another computer for the last 12 mths finally a few days ago I updated th BIO to F7 and also all the MB drivers..success--so if you are having problems sometimes it helps to upgrade, :) :)

F7 Final no good in my book, use F7P, F8c, or F8g  ;D
