Title: Realtek GBE port died X58A-UD3R
Post by: jdvoracek on December 20, 2010, 03:22:56 am
Just wondering, has anyone else had the Realtek GBE port die?  I made no changes to the computer, just powered it on. Windows said internet cable was unplugged, which of course it was not.  Tried two cables and two routers, all of which work fine with other hardwired computers.  The green LED on the port does not illuminated. Windows says device working okay, just thinks cable unplugged.  Cleared CMOS and reloaded (FC) BIOS just in case - no joy.  Waiting for RMA of course.  Thanks in advance. >:(

Hi

I have heard of others complaining of the same thing at times but don't know what the outcome was.

had a few issues with the Realtek GBE switching off,
it was all down to drivers, one was Win update installed the wrong realtek version driver for different hardware this was after installing the driver from disc (that was Install disc version 1.0) my second Ud7 came with version 1.3 disc,  Unistall the one you have and use ether the Disc that is supplied or Download it from the gig website as that maybe a later version.

i would be surprised if the driver update did not fix the issue.

Revison 1.0
