Title: Fan Speed
Post by: TLCH723 on December 23, 2010, 04:57:49 am
Hi I have a stock frio hs for my 930 n only plug one of the fan into the CPU fan header.
I am using the x58a-ud3r mb.
Using the HWMonitor, it showed that sometime the CPU fan spin at 0 rpm while sometime at the normal rpm, 1300s.
When it said its 0, I see the fan spinning.
Is there something wrong??

Hi
I think that what is probably happening is the PWM that is controlling the fans speed has dropped back to slow it down hence showing 0 but the fan is still freewheelling. If that is not correct I would need some more detailed information.

its a 3 pins connector. forgot to mention it.
I have no control of fan speed via software and the manual control is inside the case but i dont touch it.

You could always swap it over to another header and then test the CPU header with another fan to see if you get the same reading.
