Title: GA-P35-DS3P: HDD not detected when overclocking
Post by: shakes30 on December 23, 2010, 12:51:46 pm
I recently upgraded my e2160 to a q8400. I had the 2160 oc'd to 2.9 Mhz (320 FSB) for 3 years and had no problem. The q8400 runs at 2.67 Mhz (333 FSB) default but I wanted to increase it to 400 to hit 3.2 Mhz. What I find is that when I do, my system no longer properly detects the hard drive on the first Sata port. In the bios it says Bzbzbzbzbzbzbzbzbzbz as thhe drive type.

I have set the PCI to be fixed at 100, and I have set the voltage to AUTO. I tried upping the volts to the NB by +0.3 and it doesn't help. Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Hi

Apart from what you have already done the only other thing I can think of is to put a delay in the BIOS for HDD. A few seconds should do if it is going to help at all.
