Title: Thoughput Question

I have a Gigabyte GA-880GA-UD3H. My question is, what is the maximum throughput on the pci bus vs. the maximum throughput on the sata interface? I am trying to figure out the best solution for a raid array. Any help on this would be appreciated very much. Thanks in advance.

You mean pci-e? a pci raid card would be totaly out of the question.  A pci-e raid card would be faster than the motherboards sata raid controller, but only if you were running more than three ssd's in raid0.  If you were to consider buying a raid card then I recomend either an LSI 9260 or 9211 i8.
