Hardware involved :-
Mobo - Gigabyte M720-US3 Rev 1.1
Bios - Award F6 (latest stable none beta version)
Processor - AMD Phenom II 555 Stock Speed 3.2 GHZ
Cooling - Corsair H50 with Dual 120mm fans in a Push - Pull Config
Memmory - OCZ PC26400 (DDRII @ 800mhz)
GFX - XFX Radeon HD5770
Hi guys, hoping some one here can help me out,
I am using a Gigabyte M720-US3 Rev 1.1 Mobo with the latest Non-Beta Bios (F6)
at the moment I have a stable over clock to 3.8 GHZ by pushing the Clock multipler to x19 in the bios. (love BE chips :D)
my operating temps are showing in several utils as being 30c under full load, so I know I have pleanty of room to go further.
However when I push the multiplier to x19.5 it defualts to a lot lower setting, either auto, or x11, x12 etc.
is there a known issue with this perticular mobo and bios that will not allow me to clock it to x20 or higher ?

Sorry I don't have an answer but I have noticed on my own PC (GA-890FXA-UD5 and Phenom X6 1090T) that when I start playing with the CPU Multiplier the CPU Voltage automatically drops from 1.425V to 1.30V which makes tweaking more of a challenge than it needs to be. To get above 3.8GHz I had to up the voltage then the multiplier seemed to be OK, could be a similar problem on your motherboard.
It could be that the newer Beta BIOS helps with your problem and it might be worth updating to that version just to see what happens. You can always flash back to the F6 if you find that the Beta BIOS causes more problems than it solves. Use QFlash to update your BIOS though and don't use @BIOS as it can sometimes cause problems.

well Flashed to the F7n (beta) bios, and Took the voltage of the Processor to a total of 1.472v (according to CPU-z)
and still the clock multiplier will not go above x19, Selecting x19.5 drops it down to Auto selection again :S
Really confused by this as the bios is showing the option to go way further than the x19 multiplier that im currently sat at.

Sorry to see that the BIOS update didn't help. As a matter of interest have you tried the F5 BIOS as sometimes earlier versions can work better. Don't go to an earlier version then F5 though as your CPU isn't supported before that one.
If that doesn't work I'm afraid your stuck until Gigabyte UK get back of their Christmas Holidays in the New Year. Unless someone else can provide a solution for you.

ok really confused now,
As you suggested I rolled back to the F5 Bios, and this didnt help either,
as a matter of interest this is whats happening (sorry for the large amount of info incomming)
CPU Clock Ratio
- x19 = fine
x19.5 = Auto
x20 = x5
x20.5 = x5
x21 = x5
x21.5 = x5.5
x22 = x6
x22.5 = x6.5
x23 = x7
x23.5 = x7.5
x24 = x8
This continues with the Same x16 Diffrence right up to x35 where it defaults back to x19.
Really confused.... ??? ???

Looking at what you are saying is happening, it does seem to be a problem with the BIOS.

I have the M720-US3 and 955 and it behaves exactly like yours. I've left it at stock.

Why don't you contact GTS if you haven't done so. They usually reply.
