Title: GIGABYTE GA-EG45M-UD2H IDE port
Post by: Telstar on July 21, 2009, 01:38:52 pm
Hello,

I would like to know beforehand, if the PATA controller is usable to drive an IDE dvr-rom and that is bootable (to install windows, etc). I need all 5 SATA ports for HDDs.

Thanks in advance.

I think so, that's the reason why it's still there - to use optical drives and old ATA HDD's

If it does not work for the OS then you can always install windows from a flash drive, it is quicker that way too!
