Hey, just a quick question... my recently built pc with i7 980x and 12gigs of MUSHKIN 998681 R RAM has been in working condition since my little accident with my Mobo before putting it together.
Rookie mistake, I didn't lift the safety cover properly and nicked one of the pins on the board. I ended up doing what I could with a magnifying glass and tweezers but also went out to purchase another board just in case that wouldn't work.
My board is the GA-X58A-UD3R and I was just wondering how one can check and tell if the motherboard is working optimally with the cpu?
Sincerely,
thanks,

Does all the memory show up in taskmanager?
If so and it's stable then you are probably fine!

I pretty much agree with Lsd. The best and only way to really test it is to build it up and see if it all works as normal. Chances are if it was only one pin and you have managed top straighten it out then it will be fine.

Physical Memory (MB) says 12286 so that's a good thing. Thanks for the heads up Lsdmeasap and Dark Mantis, I will be using the system to it's capacity once the DAW is fully set up, so I keep an eye out for that.
Thanks again,
Sincerely,

No problem, just glad that it worked for you. ;)
