Title: GA-X58A-UD3R: DES2 hangs Windows boot

Hi,

I configured Dynamic Energy Saver in advanced mode. I enabled maximum energy savings except for CPU throttling. The software then configures "DES2.exe state" to run at boot-up.

Now every time I log into Windows I get a black desktop screen for about 5-10 seconds until DES2 finishes executing. There is no CPU or hard-drive usage. Just a hang. If I kill DES2.exe the desktop loads right away. If I uninstall DES altogether the problem also goes away.

There's your answer then...uninstall it! ;D

Seriously personally I don't like all these free programs that are given away with motherboards as they are generally gimmiky and often don't work well. I don't know in this particular case as I don't use it but I would suspect it to be of the same ilk.
