With AHCI mode enabled the BIOS POST screen says that SMART is not enabled for my new Corsair Force F80 SSD. Browsing the Corsair forums other users have had this problem.
I hope it is nothing more than a issue with SMART. Is Gigabyte going to do a BIOS release update to fix this?

Are you trying to run Windows XP because AHCI is not compatible?
-
I am running Windows 7 64-bit
-
Are you already running the latest BIOS version?
What about firmware for the SSD?
-
I am running f9 bios which is the latest. As for the Corsair SSD there are no firmware updates available on the Corsair website itself. But there may be on a Sandforce website. They make the SSD controller. But I am being diligent as I dont want to trash the SSD. Corsair forums say the 3.2 firmware introduced the Gigabyte SMART issue with Corsair SSD's.

That would sound quite possible to me. As long as you have TRIM/Garbage Collection enabled it probaly won't make much difference whether SMART is enabled or not.
