Title: GA-P55A-UD3 sata/usb interface broken?
Post by: laurensberends on January 08, 2011, 12:04:23 pm
Hello everybody,
I've got a problem, i have just installed my new intel core i5 760 system with the ga-p55a-ud3 motherboard.
The problem is that my mobo wont see ANY usb and sata devices. The strange thing is that I have had it working fine for 5 days.
This is with no changes in the bios setup. I have tried everything, like disassemble al the drives, to removing the battery and changing the cmos jumper.
I cant flash the bios because it wont find the usb drives and sata drives. I've also tried to connect the usbstick on the usb connector on the mobo itself.
This also doesnt have any effect. The last thing I've tried was setting the failsafe defaults in the bios using a ps2 keyboard because this is the only keyboard it locates and activates.

I hope that my causin isn't right, because he thinks the usb and sata interface is broken because he thinks the usb and sata interface are 1 together, because there shared.

Anyone has a solution?

Thanks in forward,
Laurens(netherlands, so excuse me for my bad english)

Hi and welcome to the Gigabyte Forum.

Just in case it is that the BIOS has somehow become corrupted try using the Backup BIOS.

You can kick in the backup BIOS by shutting down the PSU from the wall, then hold down your case power button in and then turn on the power supply button, a few seconds later the board will start, shut off the power supply then.

Then you can turn on the power supply again and power up the board normally and DualBIOS will kick in.

I have tried it but there were no changes. I found a solution for my pc to start, I put the ssd cable on the sata3.0 socket, before it was on tghe sata 2.0. I've got the pc to boot to windows 7. but i still have a problem with the usb interface. It just wont find any devices. And the thing that it wont find the ssd on the sata 2.0 port is maybe because the sata 2.0 is regulated by the intel chipset(maybe the normal 2.0 usb ports too), but the sata 3.0 and the usb 3.0 is regulated by the marvel. so maybe the intel chipset is broken?

And the onboard lan is also gone in windows, but in the bios its on.......

Apparently the latest Windows update breaks the Lan driver and so you will need to roll it back or reinstall it. Thanks to wizardB for that info.
