Hey all,
Just exchanged my Gigabyte X58-UD5 Rev1 motherboard for a Rev2. Do I need to do a complete reinstall of Windows 7?
Looks like changes are largely new trace paths and other circuitry related updates. All the chipsare the same.
Thanks.

Have you tried booting windows on the new board. Its worth a shot IMO. When changing boards keep track of which port each drive is on and set it up the same on the new board. Also make sure the bios is setup the same way, ahci any custom settings you had on the old board. If it works OK your good to go. If not reload. You may need to reactivate windows as the integrated NIC will have a different MAC address. If all goes well you can do some clean up in device manager by enabling hidden devices if need be. http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/77614-device-manager-hidden-devices.html
Be careful of what you delete. Only delete ghosted items. Stay away from non plug and play devices unless you know exactly what you are doing.
