Title: GA-P67A-UD3: cant upgrade BIOS
Post by: daboard71 on January 11, 2011, 05:51:16 pm
Hello,

got my new MB on Monday but am having issues upgrading the Firmware.

Currently it´s on F3 - F5 and F6A are available.

When trying to upgrade the firmware from within Windows 7 64bit PH the @BIOS application crashes after reading the bios file.

Using the upgrade from BIOS (hitting END key during power up) I´m told that the BIOS file i´m using is not compatible.

Tried both F5 and F6A, same result for both.

I´m certain I am have the P67A-UD3, manual board and CPU-Z says so. :-)

Any ideas??

Thanks

Hi and welcome to the Gigabyte Forum.

Firstly don't try and use @BIOS for updating your BIOS files as it is far too dangerous. It is possible that it has already damaged you BIOS and that is why the checksum is telling you the new file is not compatible. Of course there could be another reason like it just is incompatible!

Are you 100% sure that the model number is correct as there are two more boards in this lineup ?

Have you tried F4 ?

Apparently I have just found out the @BIOS that comes with the motherboard doesn't work anyway and a new version would need to be downloaded from the Gigabyte website for it to function. This might be necessary for updating using any beta versions, however the main versions as appearing on the website should all work with QFlash so the advice still stands.

You are correct. After uninstalling the old version and installing the new 2.10 version of @BIOS I was able to successfully load F6A BIOS.

Thanks a lot for helping me!

You are very welcome and of course it is a learning curve for all of us at the moment.
