Hi all, i am new here but just wanted to say hi and hope to learn a little as i go.
I have just finished building my first PC and if i say so myself its awesome lol, everything works perfect first time lol.
My issue is a little strange as i am unsure if it is a problem or not really. I have the X58-USB3 MB and i have installed all the drivers that came with it and like i say it works Perfect, Strange thing is, every now and then i get a pop up balloon near my clock saying i have just unplugged a line in device in the realtek HD control panel.
If i play some music i hear it ? so i thought maybe bad connection, so i fiddled with the jack plug to see if i could make it say it again but nothing ? the jack plug is solid as are the wires.
All my sounds play just fine so i am confused as to why it should tell me i've just unpluged it ? i can be doing nothing and up pops the balloon ? but in the controll panel for realtek my line in is still showing the green socket i plugged into as active ?
Any ideas peep ? thanks for reading and thanks again for any input.
Regards,
Vale.

Hi and welcome to the Gigabyte Forum.
Congratulations on your first build. ;) In someways it is a shame that you had no problems because that is how you learn a lot more about your system....but there is still time yet ;D
As for the Line in unless you are planning to use it all the time I would advise just disabling it. Hopefully that will cure your popup message also.

Thanks Mantis, trouble is i have my logitec speakers plugged into them ! if dissable it wont it stop my speakers from working ?
-
I think therer is a bit of confusion here. The Line In is for input and is Blue.
-
And there lies the prooblem..... anyone can build a pc but not everyone can understand one lol
Yes its my mistake Mantis, so sorry, i meant my logitec speakers are plugged into the green audio analog back panel. :p
Cheers.

No problem, that does mean that you can disable the Line In connection which is the one you were complaining about, yes?
-
Hahaha No mate i totaly cocked up in my explaination.
Please allow me to re-explain....
I still get the odd pop up balloon in the system tray saying "i have just unplugged a Device" from the realtek control panel. And if i am quick and click on the balloon the realtek controll panel come up and says my audio green jack is plugged in ? so whats being unplugged ?
Even after i get this message my speakers still work so is there a probelm with the realtek part of the MB or driver ? it is the driver that come with the board.
The line in thing was me not knowing what the green jack was called ;p

Ok, I understand now! It could be a faulty driver so I would suggest removing the device in Device Manager and then re-install it with the latest drivers on the website.
When you built the computer did you make any connection to the internal audio connector block?
Failing that I would say it is a hardware issue and you would need to return your motherboard to the retailer for exchange.

Thanks Mantis,
I will try the updated driver. I didnt have to connect anything regarding audio on the MB ? everything just plugged in and worked ? its only since i bought my new logitek speakers that the balloon pops up now and then. But like i say, sound still works..movies, music, windows sounds all work fine ?
Who knows eh.. i will try the driver first. seems a shame to dissmantle the whole pc to send the MB back when it works ? its just this blooming balloon :/ having said that i have been on the pc for 4 hrs now and it hasnt popped up yet ? weird.
I will post back when i have updated the driver.
Thanks for all the help Mantis, its appreciated.
Regards.

Mmmmm, clicked update diver but windows says its upto date ? and finding the correct realtek one is a nightmare and i dont want to mess anything up :/
The realtek site just wants me to install their driver download manager so i did, it found 21 drivers needing updating so i clicked download and hay presto...that will be $30 please !!!!!!
Sod that, surely i should be able to update my realtek driver for free ? isnt that called customer support ???
I think this pic is my HD audio driver ? is it the latest ?
Thank again for any advice offered :)
-
Yes, don't just update the driver uninstall the device and then install it with new drivers from here:
http://uk.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=3571&dl=1#driver
These are all for your motherboard and OS.

No problem let's hope that has sorted your problem out. Even though it was only a niggle it can be annoying and play on your mind.
I will be offline for a day or more now while I do a complete rebiuld/upgrade. ;)
