Hi

Well really you should have stuck to the same make and model of memory and I would say this is the most likely cause of your problem. Have you set all the settings and voltages manually in the  BIOS?

You will need to increase the voltage a little to compensate for filling all the slots and putting an extra load on the memory controller. You wil also need to play around with the QPI/Vtt  and Uncore  expect.

thanks for the reply... i solved the problem by interchanging the ram in the slots...now it is showing 12gb and is using 12gb...but the 1600mhz corsair ram is running at very low frequency @ 540 Mhz and my gskill is running at 800 Mhz so can you please tell me the correct voltage settings inorder to increase...so for now everything is set to default in bios
