Hi,
I'm currently trying to track down an issue where my webcam's microphone is not properly initialized after returning from power safe mode to normal operation. After starting my system, the webcam's mic works as expected. When entering powers afe mode and then returning to normal operation, there is only loud noise coming from the mic. Rebooting the system returns the webcam to normal operation. I'm wondering now, if this could be a problem with my EX58-UD4P.
My webcam is a Creative Life! Optia AF with 1.4.4 drivers. From Device Manager I see that the camera supports wake from D0 and wake from D2 and that S3 (which I am using) is mapped to D2. I didn't find something in the BIOS to set the wake up mode.
Any ideas how to track down whether it is a board/bios oder webcam/driver issue? Am I missing something obivous here?
Best,
Max

Hi and welcome to the Gigabyte Forum.
I suppose the most obvious question first is are you running the most up to date BIOS version for your motherboard?
What about drivers for the webcam? Are there any newer ones?
Have you tried going on the Creative website /forum to see if there are any known issues?

Hi,
I'm running F13 bios (the latest non-beta). Is this the one I should run?
Web cam drivers are the latest.
Did a search on the Creative web site, but didn't find any relevant post. Besides this, most of the post have never been answered...

You could always try a later beta BIOS update but whether you would gain anything is anybody's guess.
I am afraid that is the perrenial problem of many webforums.
Beyond that I don't really have an answer for you. Maybe somebody else will have some experience of this issue. :-\
