Title: Hybrid EC Firmware defaulting to Normal when cold booting sometimes.
Post by: L4d on January 25, 2011, 07:12:17 am
GA-MA78LM-S2H Rev. 1.0  and F11 BIOS
I currently have Hybrid EC Firmware enabled with my 720BE. It's stable under Prime95's Blend for at least 6 hours as a quad core (I closed Prime95 after 6 hours without an error).
Why on cold boots will the Hybrid EC Firmware be defaulted to Normal sometimes? When this defaulting occurs it's able to use Hybrid EC Firmware after I enter the BIOS and exit the BIOS with or without saving changes. This is only happening randomly sometimes...

Not sure if your situation is the same but I've experienced random boots with locked cores, too. In my case it doesn't matter if I go into bios or not. On next boot it's always back to 4 cores. I think you may just have to get used to it.
