I recently upgraded my PC with H67MA-UD2H + i5 2500, but my Asus Xonar STX PCIe is not recognized anymore.
I double-checked that Xonar STX is properly plugged (with additional power) in and on board sound card is turned off. I even tried changing PCIe slot, but no matter what I do, the card is not even shown in a device manager in Win7. Installing Xonar STX drivers fails with a message to plug in the card and try again. Forcing installation through a device manager results in BSOD.
I upgraded motherboard bios from F3 to F6, and with first boot after that, Win 7 recognized "something" and installed drivers for "PCI standard PCI Express to PCI/PCI-X Bridge". However Xonar STX is still not visible in a device manager and I still canot install the latest drivers.
Any idea what's wrong and how I can fix this?

I would have expected that once the PCI Bridge had been installed it would have seen your card.
Have you tried removing it, rebooting and then installing it again ?
Is there anything else that doesn't show in device manager properly ?

I was surprised as well. For a moment I thought I solved my problem :(
But definetely even after bios update, the card is not there. Yes I tried to unplug and plug it again (and also tried again other PCIe slots), but without success.
Where exactly should I be able to see "PCI standard PCI Express to PCI/PCI-X Bridge" device? It's not in a standard list in a device manager.

It should just come up as PCI Bridge under System Devices in Device Manager.
Can you try the card in another computer to verify that it is still working ok?

I have the exact same problem with a Xonar d2x (pcie) and a brand new GA-870A-UD3. I've tried the card in other computers with no problems, and I tried my old audigy in the pci slot with no problems. It doesnt work in either pcie slot and there are absolutely no changes to device manager before and after installing it. Any ideas?

Hi and welcome to the Gigabyte Forum.
Have you tried installing the software before putting the card in the slot ? I know some hardware prefers to be installed this way.
-
The driver package from the manufacturer will not proceed through the installation without detecting the card.

Have you disabled the onboard sound first ?
