Hi and welcome to the Gigabyte Forum.

Yes there is no reason why this shouldn't run perfectly on the motherboard but I don't actuallly know of anyone connecting one of these enclosures before.

Hi Dark

Do you know which PMP driver for e-sata  does have the motherboard ?

https://ata.wiki.kernel.org/index.php/SATA_hardware_features (https://ata.wiki.kernel.org/index.php/SATA_hardware_features)

If you don't do you know where I could ask?

Thanks ;D

I expect Pierre can help you more than me as he seems to be our network/LAN guru.

It might be worth also taking out a ticket with GGTS

Just enter your email address and click on the language of choice.

I think that this box run only with SIL3132 PCI-express card ( i have not found documentation to LIAN LI )

For me that is not a good solution ???

**

You have some products with complete independant OS / possibility / interface

I have  4 * Addonics adapters with 4 * 1TO disks in RAID 10
--> use only one eSata port configureable in RAID 0 , 5 , 10 JBOD max partition is 2TO
--> can used with eSata port or USB
--> speed in RAID 10 is some 160 Mo/s connected to my GA-X58A-UD5
--> I use MotherBoard GA-X58A-UD5 ESata port Marvell 88SE9128 or add-on PCI-e add-on card RR622 HighPoint

--> http://www.addonics.com/products/host_controller/ad4sr5hpmus.asp

Exist also another products by exemple ( configuration with a little LCD sceen )

http://www.ioisata.com/products/Port-Multiplier/SPM394.htm
http://www.span.com/product_info.php?products_id=28465

for enclosures you can find some enclosures to

http://www.addonics.com/products/raid_tower/raid_tower.asp

Pierre

* but ...

* If LIAN LI EX-303 or 503 are with only one eSata connector and one for USB , the electronics for Raid is internal and features are similar to Addonics adapters  ???

Hi Pierre

http://www.lian-li.com/v2/en/product/product06.php?pr_index=503&cl_index=12&sc_index=48&ss_index=129&g=f (http://www.lian-li.com/v2/en/product/product06.php?pr_index=503&cl_index=12&sc_index=48&ss_index=129&g=f)

This one should work no?

-----------------

Something I don't understand is that Lian Li 50 or 503 should have this PMP installed in order to be readed by any computer connected...

If I installed this pci multiplier to my pc , I will have more sata ports but  I don't understand how it is helping me to see all units in the DAS

As i understand it, the pci will transform my pc in das basically no?

-----------------

Anyway i am still waiting for gigabytes to tell me if the motherboard does support PMP

Thanks

I have read EX50 documentation with interest

1 - With EX-50 Lian Li the Raid or no Raid configuration is by Jumper or Software
By jumper the configuration 2 possibilities Internal or External
In external mode requiert a compatible PCI-e card with SIL3132
In internal mode 5 config by jumper - use only any eSata port

If you use internal mode i think that features are similar to my Addonics Adapters with the jumpers configuration

Use a computer running price is low  some 160 dollars without disks

2 - With EX-503 no doc m no price ...

3 - With X-40  is a completly independant machine used as a little server  or a good network disk with some servicess ...  fine
but the price .. i have see some 500 dollars without disks

Use no a computer running

:D ;D

My interest was 503 so i did not ever check 50 odel doc, my bet...xDD

If I understand well, will have to find doc anyway to confirm but if i connect ex-503 by e-sata using the internal config mode by jumper, everything should gofine?

I have no intention at first to use raid at all or to install any SO.

I am checking the website you gave me earlier, there is some good stuff in it and affordable price...

Merci Beaucoup Pierre

On reste en contact....

A +

I am a bit lost between all The Nas models...

http://www.shopaddonics.com/items.asp?Cc=MST&iTpStatus=1&Tp=

This one should work fine?

I just need a Nas for less than 200€ wich support e-sata and usb 3.0

If you have any ideas ...

Thanks
