I have a GA-M52L-S3P rev 1.0 mainboard. Bios version is F4. There is a new one (F6A) but it's Beta and I don't trust Beta.
In any Windows USB is 2.0.
But if I try to boot from a USB stick/key/hdd it works as 1.1 (so very slow). It doesn't matter which OS or boot manager I'm using (grub4Dos, windows XP/Vista/7 setup...).
I noticed that on some other computers it boots as 2.0.
I'm curious: on my mainboard the problem is from hardware or from Bios (and I don't mean settings)?

Hi
Are you sure that the device you are using is actually USB2.0 rated ?
On the subject of beta BIOS versions they are normally fine and I have run them for years.

Yes, I'm 100% sure.
There are 2:
- a 1 GB Kingston stick/key which has 13 MB/s reading speed and 6 MB/s writing speed.
- a 500 GB HDD Western Digital with 27 MB/s reading/writing speed.
And I tested in the back USB ports as well, knowing the problems with the internal connectors (front panel). And no change...
