i have a GA-M57SLI-S4 and IDE look up on boot takes about a minute. i have 3 IDEs (2 sata disks & 1 dvd burner).
is there a way to disable IDE lookup? i had a asus mainboard that had a "quick boot" feature which skipped this whole ide lookup and bios startup screen.

Hi,
What is your bios version?
What happens when you connect only 1 SATA HDD, no other devices?
It should take less than 15 sec to detect HDD and ODD.

Hi,
Also try Unpluging all usb attatchments, as the bios scans for usb boot devices on startup,
