Title: Just Bought The GA-870A-UD3, Bios & Processor Question.
Post by: Dynawd on February 16, 2011, 01:22:05 am
I'm slowly building myself a new computer and I just bought the GA-870A-UD3.

I would like to buy the AMD Phenom II X6 1100T but the motherboard is rev 2.1 and the bios is F2.  The CPU Support List mentions that the 1100T is only supported in bios update F4.  So my question is if I install the 1100T would the motherboard still recognise the processor and start up, which would then allow me to update the bios or would I need to purchase a processor that's compatible with F2 instead?

Hi and welcome tot he Gigabyte Forum.

No I am afraid you will need a supported processor to flash the BIOS before you can install the Phenom II X6 1100T. If you don't have access to one try getting the retailler to update the BIOS for you before you purchase it.

Looks like I'll have to buy the 1090T instead then.

Does anyone know when the GA-870A-UD3 F5 bios will be released, its been in beta for quite a while.
