Title: Mushkin Radioactive 998679r & 998958‏
Post by: diaz_moraleda on February 20, 2011, 03:45:55 pm
Hello. Not found a solution to my problem.

Currently I have 3x2 Mushkin 998679 7/8/7/20 6GB (3 modules) and 3x2 Mushkin 998958 6/8/6/24 6GB (3 modules) 12GB Total. Plaque starts smoothly and perfectly recognizes 12GB. Windows at the certain time is frozen and paralyzed. Currently I have the latest bios available for the board. The 6 memory modules do not pass nor passes memtest + Windows Memory Diagnostic. If I spend 3 individual modules perfectly memtest +. It is a problem of bringing together the 6 modules that have to be incompatible with each other. I tried to leave the timings at 8/8/8/24 which is compatible with both types of memory but still produces errors.

Do we need any special configuration or else these memories are not compatible and need 6 modules the same?

Thanks.

Hi and welcome to the Gigabyte Forum.

You had the right idea by running all the modules at the looser settings but that might not guarantee compatibility.

I would suggest increasing the memory voltage to compensate for the extra load on the memory controller by having all slots filled.

You didn't state what the default voltage for these modules are but if you let me know I will try and help you sort out the settings.

Ok. Thanks. My motherboard is a UD7 x58 v2 with the latest bios FC. I tried to raise the QPI voltage Dram to 1,325 but still the same memtest + 4.20 1.xxx gets to give errors.

Any help will always be welcome.

Thanks.

Thanks but I didn't need the QPI/Vtt  I require the memory voltage. Either 1.5v or 1.65v I expect. It is probably printed on the side of the modules or the box they came in.

Dram voltage I tried it with 1.64 and 1.66 which is what makes the manufacturer. Is a fixed exchange rate since the 1.50 plate by default puts wrong.

Greetings.

In that case if the default is 1.65v try increasing it to 1.68v - 1.72v. You will have to make sure that your QPI stays within 0.50v of it though. It can be closer but not any further away. You will probably have to play around with your QPI/Vtt settting to get stability.

Also check your Uncore and make sure that is set to twice your memory multiplier (or twice plus 1 or 2). So if you are usiong a 10x multiplier the Uncore shopuld be set to x20 - x22.
