Title: Watercool a GTX560 SOC / Warranty Voided?
Post by: coldfused on February 23, 2011, 05:48:03 pm
Are we allowed to watercool a GTX560 SOC without voiding warranty?
I know EVGA does allow for it.

Hi there,

my understanding is that if you remove the stock cooling then the warranty becomes void.

There was a case recently where a member damaged his motherboard when swapping from the stock cooler for his CPU and damaged the board. Gigabyte were unable to repair the damage but because it was caused by the user the warranty was void. ( see here for this: http://forum.giga-byte.co.uk/index.php/topic,4143.0.html )

I would also agree with absic on his view that if you remove the cowl then you are voiding your warranty. I do this as I watercool and that is always how I have viewed it.
