I have a few questions about settings for Sata3 and SLI.
I've been using my UD4P with 2 EVGA 460s and a Sata2 drive. I bought a new drive today as I needed more space and it is Sata3. I did a few quick searches and found out that the controller for Sata3 messes with this. I don't really care about getting Sata3 speeds out of my hdd, but I definitely don't want my GPU performance to drop.
Is my best bet to just plug the new drive into a Sata2 port? Or is there a setting I should enable/disable.
Thanks in advance,
Scynthe

Hi and welcome to the Gigabyte Forum.
Well I will make it easy for you. Forget the SATA3 ports as they never worked to their full capacity anyway. I would recommend just using them for your optical drives etc and use the Intel ICH10R ports for your hard drives. The Marvell controler never actually delivered on it's promise of SATA3 speeds and as such is fine as a SATA2 controller but not much more.

So as long as I do that my SLI will be unaffected?

I don't personally run SLI but as far as I know it shouldn't affect it at all.
