Friendly Gigabyters ;D
I have a new build with the following specs:
Antec 550W PS
GA-H55M-USB3 Rev2.
EVGA GT 240
1TB HD
SATA DVD Burner
Case.
Mounted everything in case. No post, No Beep, No Video.
Fans work, phase lights work.
What I have done:
I have taken EVERYTHING OUT OF case. placed on non conductive cardboard and started from scratch.
Mounted CPU and stock cooler only.
Cleared CMOS
Removed CMOS batter for 30 minutes, replaced, cleared CMOS
Changed speaker.
Plugged in power on mobo, plugged in power cord.
RESULT NO BEEP.
Mounted PCI Video RESULT same and no video.
Mounted 1 stick Ram 2 x 2GB XMS3 corsair in DDR3_1 slot (first white slot from CPU) RESULT SAME.
Removed CPU and cooler. Looked at pins in socket. Did not see any pins bent.
I can't get this thing to even POST a little bit. Any suggestions?

Hi and welcome to the Gigabyte forum.
Let's try the obvious first. Have you made sure that all the power plugs are inserted properly? That is the 24 pin, the 8 pin beside the CPU, and the 6 or 8 pin on the graphics card ?
-
I have. 24 +4 is plugged in properly and 6 pin plugged in by cpu. Gt 240 does not have external power.
What else ya got? :)
-
Well it should have the 8 pin plugged in really as it won't be stable or maybe even start without. You can get an adapter for a molex connector if your PSU only has a 4 pin.
You don't say what processor you have installed so I can't check if it is supported by your BIOS version which is ?
-
Sorry. Didnt list. I5-760. Mobo is rev2 whuch should have at min F7 which supports i5-760.
I'm pretty sure power next to cpu is 6 and no option for 8. Video card I looked around to double check and couldnt find power for it. I will be home in 30 will triple check.
-
OK. My info says 8 pins for the EPS power on the rev 2.0.
It would appear that the rev.2.0 mobo comes as standard with F7 BIOS so that shouldn't be a problem but it might be just as well to check.
-
Ok just checked. It does have an 8 pin power. I was going from memory as I was mobile.
What else do ya have?
-
I don't think I need anything else dude! I reckon if you fill the 8 pin connector it should work. ;)

Just bought a GA H55M-s2v. I will see if this works.
