I've been itching to upgrade the CPU on my GA-m57sli-s4 board for quite some time, but Gigabyte hasn't posted any new bios updates since 2009.
Does anyone know if there's a new beta bios available somewhere? I really don't want to upgrade my motherboard and RAM unless I absolutely have to do so... this board has served me quite well for the past two years and I don't want to stop using it just yet.
Thanks!

Hi and welcome to the Gigabyte Forum.
It might well be that being an older board Gigabyte has stopped updating the BIOS as a common occurance. If there are any newer drivers available they will normally appear on stationdrivers.com.

Hi there,
as Gigabyte haven't released any updates for over a year for this motherboard, it is a pretty safe assumption that they will not be doing so in the future.
Yes, if you stick with your current Mobo you will be limited in your upgrade options but that is the same for all of us and that's called progress! ;)

Well, I found this message board while googling for information and found some threads mentioning an "FHL" beta bios that is not available on the website. I just figured they would still support it. :(
Oh well. It's been a good two years. :( *sobs*
Thanks for your help.

Ooops! Silly me. Now if I could remember everything I could make a fortune.
If you PM and let me have your e-mail address I can forward the FHm BIOS for this board which would probably help. Sorry I didn't realise sooner that this was what you are after.
You might like to check this thread: http://forum.giga-byte.co.uk/index.php/topic,2116.30.html#lastPost which is talking all about this BIOS..... doh!

Well, I don't need a newer bios right now. I'm using the FF one, and it works fine. I have no issues with the system, other than it being slow in its old age (and the video card being total garbage.) I saw that beta bios thread, but didn't see any sort of list of supported CPUs, just that it was a fix for ATI graphics cards - so I thought they would eventually release an updated version that would include new CPUs...
So while I appreciate the offer, I'll have to pass on it. No use trying to fix something that isn't broken, after all!
Thanks folks!
