Title: Memory 6Gb detected by BIOS with only 4Gb running
Post by: F5BJR on April 08, 2011, 08:44:12 pm
*
A simple history
*
I have my GA-X58A-UD5 running fine with 3 * 2Gb

I add new pack with 3 * 2Gb memory

And .. And ... I  have 12Go detected and only 10Gb running

I test , i remove old pack at this time 4Go for 6Gb memory

Finnally found problem

1 - i add only one new memory in the first white slot --> fine 2Gb OK --> OS start
2 - i change this by a new --> fine 2Gb OK --> OS start
3 - i change with the thirty -->bad --> BIOS stop to C1

I am stupid i have not tested the 3 separatly
!!

If this can help many friends

Pierre

Hi Pierre

It is easy to get caught out like that. This is why we tell everyone to check the memory indvidually. Anyway at least you found it. ;)
