Title: Lucid Logix Virtu
Post by: rikkid on April 16, 2011, 08:16:45 am
Hi

I own the GA-H67A-UD3H-B3 motherboard with a i5-2500k cpu. I would like to use the onboard transcoding capability of this cpu whilst using my GTX460 graphics card for gaming. I know that Lucidlogix have software to do this but it has to be supplied by the motherboard manufacturer (according to Lucid). Will Gigabyte be supplying this software or any thing like it?

yours

rikkid

Hi and welcome to the Gigabyte Forum.

I have not heard anything about this but it may be possible. I will ask the Gigabyte Administrator runn3R to look into it for you. It will be next week before I can contact him though.

One thing that puzzled me was why you purchased a 2500 K CPU with a H67 motherboard ? Seems to be a waste.

I was after the better graphics core ie hd3000 not hd2000. also it only cost me £4 more that the i5-2500.

Oh fair enough then. It was just obviously they are an unlocked chip but you are using it on a board that doesn't allow full use of the chip. ;)

The P67 series would not have allowed me to use the builtin transcode engine but the H67 does. I would have probably have bought a Z68 series motherboard if they had been available.

Hi rikkid

We are still considering about this technology. No decision made yet.

Hi
it would be great if you could supply this software. I do like to play the odd game on my pc but i do more video editing and conversion which is why i went for the h67 and not the p67.

thanks

is there any news about Gigabyte supplying this technology? it's been a couple of weeks since i started this thread. i have noticed that most of the other motherboard manfacturers have started to supply it with h67 and z68 boards.

We will provide this software with new platform 6-series chipset motherboards equipped with display output.

That is good news but does it mean i will have to buy another motherboard to get it or will i be able to download it from your website?

I would think then that all H67 motherboards will be able to run it as an update.

Currently it's only in Z68 MB's equipped with VGA outputs. No plans to introduce it in your MB.
