My first time here so hi to you all :)
I am from turkiye so english isnt my first language, sorry about mistakes.
I have this mobo and these ocz memories x 2 kit.
Before I go any futher my system;
X58A-UD3R
i7 960 3.2 ghz (No OC)
OCZ 6GB 1600 MHZ x 2
Msi 6870 hawk X 2 Crossfire
1x westerndigital 1 TB sata3 black claive on sata 3 port (windows 7 ultimate)
1x seagate 1 TB sata 2 on sata 2 port
1x creative titanium HD
1x Highpower 750W psu
I built new system after 2 years.
When I first build my system I was have 1 kit rams. these rams supoosed to run at 1600mhz 8-8-8-24 1.65v and these rams in mobo's memorie suppot list . I am getting random bluescreens with codes '3B' or '50' and some more cant remember well. even getting bluescreens with default setting which is eveything on auto. ex: rams = 1066 mhz... Not getting always but lets say 1 time every day or in 2 days.. sometimes I run computer for 10 hours nothing come out ... I shut down, go out for work and come back push button, just before windows screen again blue screen.. its really annoying :/ I run 10 hours memtest nothing came out also tryed single by single tests no error. then I bought 2. kit ram again ocz brand same kit. I didnt use old ones at first. and tryed new ones but again bluescreen with differnt settings. default / 8-8-8-24 / 9-9-9-24 or 30 1.65V auto volt... Maybe I have another problem on mobo not sure which part I am failing. sometimes post screen takes 20-25+ sec...
I went ocz forum post there. I didnt get any answer sadly >>
http://www.ocztechnologyforum.com/forum/showthread.php?86666-GA-X58A-UD3R-REV-1.0-and-%283x2GB%29-OCZ3G1600LV6GK-Bue-screens
I searched on internet and I found I out these 2 brand isnt working good together? at last for this mobo? bcuz if you look ocz forum > gigabyte there is mostly x58a-ud3r problems with differnt rank memories...
Anyways thank you for reading. I am not hoping to get any answer you will tell ask ocz most probably. they are not caring either bcuz I called gigabyte in turkiye. they told me this mobo isnt suppot 1600 mhz ram so your fault. I dont know if its my fault since these rams in memorie list for this mobo..... And still I am not sure if this memorie problem. Just letting you know an unhappy custemmer here

Hi and welcome to the Gigabyte Forum.
OK so lets see what we can do. If yopu can answer some of my questions first it might make things easier.
Was the memory you purchased at different occasions but in matching kits ?
Have you set all the memory timings and voltages manually ?
Have you compensated for the filling of all the memory slots by increasing the voltage ?
Have you kept thew memory kits seperate and marked them so you cna tell the difference ?
No memory manufacturer will guarantee their memory kits to work together as they are not all matched but usually it can be done even if it means running at slightly looser timings.
OCZ memory doesn't seem to be as strictly quality controlled as it used to be and we see a lot of problems with their RAM.
-
Hey thank you for fast reply
these memories >> http://www.ocztechnology.com/ocz-ddr3-pc3-12800-gold-low-voltage-triple-channel.html
2gb X 3 triple channel 2. kit same with this one so totaly 12 GB memorie
I tryed all settings manual as I read ocz forum for these kit rams 1600 mhz 8-8-8-24 tcp:2 V:1.65 qpiV: 1.20-1.36
also tryed all setting auto(default) >> then rams run 1066 mhz 7-7-7-19 1.52V
I tryed single rams at auto setting and manual ocz settings at ram slot 3_1 and 3_3 . no error with memtest but random bluescreen. usully while windows starting or just before
I dont have any other ddr3 rams and unfortunately my all friends still using drr2 systems so I dont have chance to try differnt ddr3 rams. I have to buy them if I need. İf I knew only problem is memories I would buy another set with differnt brand.. but alrdy bought 2 sets ocz memories with no error on tests. how Can I be sure problem is rams :/ and not mobo :(
I accept running these rams with losing timings. I just want my system staible
-
Thanks for the answers.
As I mentioned before there is no guarantee that two seperate kits will work together. You failed to mention if you had marked the seperate kits so you could tell the difference ?
You also mention BSODs. What was the stop code that was displayed ?
-
I didnt understand you clearly bcuz of my bad english even google translater sint make much sense :( I am sorry..but if you asking me if I bought rams single 2gb x 6 no.. I boguth 6 gb kit 2gbX3 and bought another same kit.. TO see if other kit has problem. and I wanted to use 12gb ram..... so These 2 kits ram same 6gb kits. 2gb x 6 they are all same? since this mobo suppot 24GB ram I should be be running 12gb ram without problem. Since these kits in your website as memory suppot list for this mobo?
Well I can change these rams if you tell me what ram brand/speed I should get, these you know working %100 perfect with this mobo. I want to use performance rams 1600-1800 or 2000 . At least 6 gb ram. if you tell me check memory suppot list, I am not going to trust this list again...... and also lets hope only problem is rams not good with this mobo :(
btw bsod codes: 0x50 , 0x3B , 0x0A , 0x101
thank you for reply
-
No I don't think you are quite understanding what I was saying.
I am clear that you purchased two kits of three modules each. I am saying that the two kits are not guaranteed to work together and you mustn't mix up the modules because they are only matched with the other modules in the kit they came in. Have you mixed them up or not ?
You don't need to change your memory yet. We will try and get it working at a better speed for you.
-
I didnt mix them up. they have seri numbers on them, I know which ones 1. kit of set and 2. kit of set .. I wont mix them by mistake anytime ;)
I puted 1. kit to 3_1 3_3 3_5
2. kit to 3_2 3_4 3_6
I'd rather to use these ones too with something acceptable speed, I will be happy anything is stabile
-
Right then you will need to increase the memory voltage to 1.70v to compensate for filling the slots.
Set the timings to 9-9-9-27
Make sure that your QV I/Vtt is set to about 1.20v but you might need to indcrease this bit by bit to get stability. you can go as high as 1.45v
Your BSOD stop codes are for memory voltage and incorrect timing. What is your Uncore multiplier set to ?
-
I am going to try these settings you just gave me when I got home from work ;)
I will note BSOD codes if I get any and let you know what they are.
not sure about Uncore multiplier I need to check when I got home. I use them auto/disabled I think 133?
I just change memory multipler to '12' to get 1600 mhz
I will be back with pictures ;) thank you
-
No problem we can look again later. Post any pictures that you think will help. ;)
-
ok here pics ;)

1-) First I did your setting 9-9-9-27 1.70V 1.20VQci/vtt
setted qpi clock ratio x36 : 4800
uncore clock ratio x18 : 2400
Got bsod with these settings called IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQAL 0X0A ERROR
2-)Then I setted again 9-9-9-27 1.70V 1.20VQci/vtt
and I left qpi clock and uncore clock at auto setting everything else auto setting which is 4.8 ghz qpi and 3.200 mhz uncore as you can see at pic
Computer started without problem with these setting :O these pics from last setting I did. no error yet. I guess I just have to wait and see if its staible
(http://i1136.photobucket.com/albums/n494/anexiety6489/asdaf.jpg)
-
Right as well as the other settings I have already mentioned you need to manually set your Uncore ratio to 24 to 26 . Try 24 and work up to 26 if necessary. Make sure all your other settings are as mentioned.
-
I saw your last message a bit late :) while uncore ratio on auto I run memtest with new settings to test for 8 hours have a pic here no error. then I restarted computer but it didnt start ??? :o shockeddd
it gave error called bsod : ''SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION'' 0X3B
then restarted again and got another bluescreen called ''BAD_POOL_HEADER'' 0X19
I shut downed computer and came work. now I saw your message and called my room mate to change uncore ration to 24x at phone. and he said computer started normal after that :O
only problem was uncore ration? I hope it was :// I will see personally when I got home.
Thank you for helping me out here :) you giving me hope about my new computer
here pic for memtest;
-
Well we shall see later when you can test it properly but it would make sense so fingers crossed. ;)
-
Yes I will let you know when I got back to home ;)
At least we can say now memories working stable after 8 hours memtest done at 1600 mhz?
-
Yes I think you can assume that the memory is ok now. ;D That would tend to point the finger at the drivers if there is stilll a problem.
-
Hello there;
I got home and started computer got 4 times bluescreen called F4 - 1A - 7E and 0A :( I have no idea whas going wrong if memories ok ://
-
We would really need the stop codes to be of any use. It is like 0x00124 type of thing.

from dump program if that helps...
-
Well the dumps are showing memory problems still but settings not hardware.
0x00000050 << Incorrect memory timing/freq or uncore multiplier
The only other thing that can cause this is if the pins are bent in the CPU socket so it might be worth checking that first.
Take all the usual anti-static precautions.
Very carefully remove the heatsink and fan. Probably a slight twisting motion is best to release the two as the thermal paste can act like a glue.
Once off remove the CPU taking extreme care both physically and electrically(static) and place somewhere safe.
Make sure that the lighting is very good and even.
Now scrutinise the socket for any pins that are out of alignment, even slightly.
If in any doubt whatsoever take a couple of macro (close up) photos of the socket and post them on here for us to check.
Also look at the bottom of the CPU at the lands (little copper circles) and make sure that there is a mark in each somewhere near the centre.
If there are any missing marks or any of the pins are obviously bent then that is your problem.
Before refitting the CPU clean off all residue of the old thermal paste and the same on the heatsink and then apply a small amount (about the size of a grain of rice) to the centre of the CPU once it is inserted in the socket.
-
Hello again :)
I already checked CPU socket 2 times , actually 3 times if you count when I was installing cpu first time ;) I checked very very carefully with lighting and all. it was look just perfect. Before I do that again I wanna try more QV I/Vtt Voltages as you said 1.20 - 1.45 . I tryed between 1.20-1.30 no lucky yet. Right now it setted 1.36 and testing now. in mean time my new cpu cooler will arrive (cooler master V10) I will check cpu socket when installing new cooler if problem wont solve with voltages. But if you sure its about bents and not voltages, I will check it tonight after work ;)
-
No leave it until your new cooler comes as there is no point making extra work for you.
For now we can try the settings.
Can you just list what settings you have for the memory at the moment.(Timings, voltages, multiplier, uncore etc)
-
Ok ;)
Right now my settings are ;
9-9-9-27 ---- 1.70V --- memorie multiplier at x12 = 1600 mhz -- uncore ratio at x26 --- QV I/Vtt: 1.36
The other settings as you see on pics at default/auto
Note: OCZ staff msged me before about settings.. wanted me use 8-8-8-24 1.65V set memorie multiplier to 12x and QV I/Vtt: 1.36 but that didnt worked for me. maybe voltage was low bcuz setting 1.65v at bios shows as 1.62 voltage use on programs? also 6 piece rams need a bit more voltage than 1.65v? I didnt try higher voltages... but ocz staff was guaranting me and still very sure about memories can work at 8-8-8-24 and 1.65V ::) they told me these settings how we test rams and sell them.. they have to work. but they ccouldnt help how on this motherboard and they didnt help :(
do you think if memoies 8-8-8-24 , they should work better and stable at 9-9-9-27 ? or setting to slower wont help stable? setting 9-9-9-27 slower can cause bluescreen also? ???
-
If anything the slower timings of 9-9-9-27 should help stability. If you need to you can even go a little higher than 1.7V for the memory. Try 1.72V if it helps. There is nothing stopping you trying the tighter timings though if you want to 8-8-8-24.
Your Uncore might work at anything from 24 to 26 so that also gives you some room to move.
Your QVI/Vtt is also increasable form the 1.36V that you have it at. You can go to 1.45V at a push.
Up to you now to play around with the settings and try and get them stable. Good luck.
-
Hey ;)
9-9-9-27 ---- 1.70V --- memorie multiplier at x12 = 1600 mhz -- uncore ratio at x26 --- QV I/Vtt: 1.36
Got another bluescreen with this settings. Error called 'MEMORIE_MANAGEGMENT'' code:0x0000001A ???
what does it mean? is it about increase QV I/Vtt ? or?
-
It is basically saying that the memory controller crashed.
-
It is basically saying that the memory controller crashed.
So you mean problem in CPU socket?
-
I tryed 9-9-9-27 ---- 1.70V --- memorie multiplier at x12 = 1600 mhz -- uncore ratio at x26 --- QV I/Vtt: 1.46
changed QV I/Vtt: 1.46 from 1.36
got another bluescreen ''APC_INDEX_MISSMATCH'' code: 0x00000001 :-[ :-[ :-[
-
Well it is a corrupt registry entry that usually causes that (maybe corrupted by memory faults) and I have found a program you can run to help track it down and fix it.
To Fix (0x00000001) error you need to follow the steps below:
Step 1:
Download (0x00000001) Repair Tool
Step 2:
Click the "Scan" button
Step 3:
Click 'Fix All' and you're done!
-
Ok Dark , doing this right now ;) we will see
-
Here pics btw for cpu socket.. I followed your steps and applied new thermal paste..

-
if there is problem I think it should be in this red circle?
-
It does look a bit suspect. Can you take a better photo of that particular area with good lighting please.
-
Sure Dark ;) Here you go. I hope you can see better. supposed to be a bent there?

-
No I think that they are all ok. Check the lands (the little pads underneath the CPU) and you should be able to see marks where the pins touch. See if they all look somewhere near the centres.
-
These pics all I have. and alrdy I was instaled cpu back. but cpu was looking just good as far as I see.

-
The pictures are totally useless but I think the pins were alright anyway so no worries.
-
:( If everything looks fine where can we look now for problem ://
-
It might just be that the memory doesn't work well with the motherboard I'm afraid. I think that you are going to have to either change the memory for a different manufacturer or settle for running it at a slower speed/less modules.
-
I found some viruses on my pc spreated around usb hardisks and blocking my virus programs and windows. registery errors 900+ .... (I havent noticed before) . installed clean windows but before cleared all use hardisk with another pc. so right now it looks good.. we see soon I guess
-
Yes I would agree that the memory modules are working alright. Just so there is no misunderstanding though that doesn't necessarilly mean that they are compatible with this motherboard.
-
Hey Mantis;
Yea you were right. they are not compatible. I can see now. Before I do something I want to ask 1 more thing;
I installed clean windows. everything was fine for 10-15 hours runnig on windows I didnt get any error. with settings manually 1066 mhz 8-8-8-24 1.64V. Problem starting when I shut down computer for long hours. I shut downed computer for 10 hours maybe came.came from work Then pushed button and again Blue screen at windows starting screen :-[ Why I wont get any error while windows runing but getting bsod at starting windows? I just wanna know if this motherboard faulty or Ram faulty or PSU faulty...? First time having problem with installing new computer. This is really started annoying me.
Also these 1600 mhz dominator rams... Do I have to set manually rams, timings etc if I buy them? or profile thing will gonna work? I dont wanna deal with manuel settings anymore which is I shoudnt have to be?.. Thanks and have a good day
-
Hi
You should be able to just set the XMP in the BIOS to Profile 1 and it should automatically set the timings and voltage for the RAM if you buy the Corsair Dominators.
I am afraid I cannot say with any level of confidence whythe computer Blue Screens on startup as opposed to when running normally. Maybe it is an issue that works better once warm? ???
-
My cpu i7 960 3.20 ghz without OC and with stock fan (New cooler isnt arrived yet) + case : thermaltake g elements with 4 fans. while runing prime95 1024 m cpu temps going 70C around and cpu idle:45-52C these tempurates ok for a i7 cpu?
-
I would say they are about what you would expect from your system with a stock cooler. A better cooler like a Noctua or similar would probably shave off about 20C.
-
Since many people using these systems with stock cooler I shouldnt have bluescreen because of cpu + stock fan? 50-70 C shouldnt cause bluescreen at 'windows starting ' screen? I am sorry bugging you with nubbie questions but I need to find out where is problem before pay for something ://
Btw going to buy ; CORSAIR DOMINATOR 6GB (3 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 sDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Triple Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model TR3X6G1600C8D
I hope these ones will work out.
Ihave another question;
1- North bridge temps under load = 70-75C isnt it high without OC ?
2- I ' enable ' Base clock(BLCK) control but I leave BLCK Frequency '133' isnt this same thing with 'disable'? But my cpu temps going 65C idle at 3.20 ghz. not even OC there yet :O
