Remove the overclock to start with and try again. Also if you get it as far as the BIOS disable the onboard graphics.

Well if you have just purchased this kit I would contact the vendor and see what they are prepared to do about it. You don't want to go voiding any warranty that you might have.

Is it in a chassis or still on the benchtop?

well this is the second mobo ive had of them, had the exact same problem with the previous one. so sent it back and they have provided me with this one..

so im thinking its not a problem with the motherboard itself.

and its in the case atm, but i did assemble it outside of case on the kitchen table.

Hi there,

what revision is the motherboard? You can find it printed on one of the edges of the motherboard.
what Phenom X6 processor is it?
where did you get the bundle from and could you post a link if it was from an on-line retailer?

Did you check the serial numbers to make sure that they  didn't just return your original kit ?

The link that you have provided shows a different motherboard to the one you have originally mentioned, the GA-MA74GMT-S2 rather than the GA-M68MT-ST. Can you check which motherboard you actually have it is printed on the motherboard also the revision number.

In the specifications it doesn't actually state which CPU they are selling. Have htey given any indication as to the model number for this?

Not without a multimeter.

What about trying it without the GPU ?

Without the GPU certainly.

Have you got a buzzer/speaker attached ?

Do you know what BIOS it was supplied with ?

The next thing to try is to clear the CMOS.  The only thing is doing this will remove your overclock.

Remove the power cable from the mains supply and then press the power switch on the case for a few seconds just to drain any residual energy in the PSU capacitors.

Once done remove the motherboard battery for at least one hour before replacing it.

Next plug back into the mains supply and boot.

You will now need to enter the BIOS by pressing DEL and load Opimised BIOS Defaults.

Make any other changes to the BIOS settings to suit your self like disabling the floppy drive, disabling the full screen logo and making the HDD the primary boot device and then press F10 to save and exit.

could this be a dead mobo?

Or CPU. The same situation would occur if the CPU or motherboard was dead.

Tell us about your hard disk, CD/DVD or floppy drive. What make are they and how have you conntected them to the motherboard?

I had a very similar problem, here is what I found

Both the ATX and ATX12V power connections must be connected to the MOBO. Unfortunately (at least for me), it took me sometime to realize that the power connectors that came with the tower are connected together. In other words I had to pull apart an 8 pin connector to make 2 4 pin connectors. They come apart very easily, but look like one 8 pin connector at a first glance.

So once pulled apart, I was able to plug into the 12 pin power connector (ATX) and the 4 pin power connector (ATX12V).

After that my machine would POST and give me beep codes.

Hope this post isnt too late and helps you. Not the most intuitive solution (again at least not for me, who is just getting back into PC building)
