Hello All
New here and need some help. I have built a new system around the GA-P55-USB3 board Rev 2. Everything works fine but I wanted to use my SB X-Fi from my other machine as it was working great. The problem is that the board will not recognise it. I installed the drivers and stopped the onboard audio in bios.
As the SB is not PCIe just a PCI, will this stop it from working? I read the manual and it seemed to say that it would. Any help would be great.
Many Thanks
Steve

Hi and welcome to the Gigabyte Forum Steve.
I can't see any problem to be fair. It should work. Have you installed the latest drivers for the card. I know some of these Creative cards in particular need the drivers installed before insertion.

I'll have a look for new drivers. Have to say that I have never had a problem before. I could try another slot and if all fails, install the onboard drivers. There were a lot of Nvidia HD codecs in the Device Manager. Will let you know if it works.

You failed to say what OS you are using also.

Sorry about that. I'm using XP Pro SP3, 4gig Ram, i5 3.3.
I moved the card to the bottom PCI slot and then just installed the drivers. It worked. Only problem was when i installed Doom 3, for some reason a conflict accured and went into reboot. After that, it has been ok and sound was there.
Therre are other codecs in the Device Manager not sure if they are needed or not. Nvidia HD and Legacy. Would it better to keep them just in case they are needed?

The other codecs are for the HD part of the graphics card.

OK
But they are not enabled. You say they are for the graphics card, but these look like sound drivers.

They are for the sound part of the HDMI of the graphics card. Sound and video is integrated.
