Title: Cloud OC utlity not working properly on P67A-UD7...
Post by: Earthdog on April 26, 2011, 03:31:12 pm
Well, this seems like the best place to get this help so here goes...

System:

i7 2600k
Giga P67A-UD7-B3 with F2 and F3 bios (tried both, currently on F3)
Supertalent DDR3 2k ram @ 1600Mhz
Seasonic X750 PSU
Nvidia 560ti
W7 Pro 64 bit

That should be all the relevent information you need.

My problem is that when I try to use the Cloud OC utility to overclock my PC, the only item I am able to change is the memory multiplier. No bclk,  no multi (even with adjust on the fly enabled), no nothing on the top half. However all voltages I can change. ET6 works just fine.

Please advise.

Thanks giga!

Hi

I really don't know but I would think that it is because the P67 boards are not tuned to work with Cloud OC yet. You could try asking GGTS for confirmation.

Just enter your email address and click on the language of choice.

Thanks for the link, I will try that too.

Thing is, someone else with a gigabyte is using it just fine on P67 I believe so it should work with mine...

I take it that you haven't got your BIOS password protected ?

Correct. Bios is not PW protected, I can just jump right on in and edit in the bios and Easytune (well to be honest I havent tried ET, but I can select the item vs Cloud OC where its not a choice).

Try uninstalling EasyTune and see if that makes a difference. Often these things clash when installed together.

Well, I uninstalled ET6 and now both memory and CPU multi are available to change, but nothing else in that section.

EDIT: Well interesting. After the reboot, Im back to memory multi only...

Next!  :P

EDIT2: And now when I switch tabs and come back to Tuner, the cpu and mem multi are available to change, but nothing else in that section...

I really don't know where to go next but if you have any more of the bundled programs installed I would clean them off the system.

I have nothing else installed from Gigabyte or any other MFG for that matter like that. I will try a reinstall of the Cloud and see if that works...

Does anyone else use this stuff on this board or any other giga board that can chime in and assist?

To be fair I have tried it out only and it seemed to work fine apart from introducing  some latency into the system if left loaded.

No worries. And thank you for your input. Im just hoping someone that has used this software, and on my board, will chime in with help... If not someone from giga (do they watch these forums?).

Not really. You would need to contact GGTS for official technical help.

I don't have your exact board or CPU but I can try it with my P67A-UD5 and i5 - 2500K.

They often take a few days to answer depending on how busy they are I guess.

I will try and grab enough time to check it out tonight.

Did you have any success?

Gigabyte said those are the only two options available, but I have a got that says he can control everything...

Well I have just tried using it again and without a lot of success I might add. Every time I enabled on the fly modifying it asked me to reboot the system which I did and then it would be the same afterwards. Generally I got fed up messing with what should have been a quick way of overclocking!  Personally I will stick with the BIOS and a couple of screens.

I have used it before on another machine and it worked fine there but it seems a lot of bother for what it is.

Awesome. THanks for trying. THough it appears to be a pain in the arse, for an extreme overclocker (I use Dry Ice and LN2), this is a nifty feature even compared to ET6.

So did you have ALL the options on the top half or just hte CPU and memory multis available to change, regardless if they worked or not?

No they all appeared to be available but of course nothing actually responded. I will try and find time for another try later if I can.

So just to confirm (as I pointed the gigabyte technical support to this thread), you have the + and - on all the options on the top half but they just dont seem to be working.

vs me, who only has the memory and CPU multi options available.

Yes that is correct. As I said I will have another go at it hopefully today. ;)
