GA-870A-UD3 Rev 2.0 F4 Bios USB 3.0 boot problem
Hi
I'm trying to boot a linux flash drive on the USB 3.0 port to take advantage of the speedier transfer rates. The problem is that, although the flash drive will boot on USB 2.0 ports, it won't boot on USB 3.0. Grub is the bootloader. Bios is set to boot CD 1st, USB 2nd (flash or HDD makes no difference) and finally hard drive. It seems like the bios polls the USB 2.0 ports for bootable images, but not the 3.0. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

I tthink it has something more to do with whatever distro not supporting the boot from a USB 3.0 port.
I have tried the same thing.
Check this (http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1628665&highlight=Booting+from+USB+3.0) out if you really want to boot from your USB 3.0 device.

I think what malum says is correct as we have had similar posts on here before and there has been no other reason for it not to work.
