I was hoping for an offical statement as to how many amps are available on the cpu header for a 890gpa-ud3h mobo. I know the corsair H70 instructions want to have both 120mm fans hooked to the cpu header and i want to replace them with ultra kaze 120mm fans. Each ultra kaze fan draws .63 amps and ill have two on the header.
From what i can find im safe upwards to 3 amps on modern gigabyte mobos.
Anyone know for certain or have a link to an offical statement as to amps on the cpu header.

Well I asked thi squestion some months ago of Gigabyte techs and was told 1 amp. However I was chatting to Lsdmeasap and he had been told 3 amps. So believe who you will as both the answers came from Gigabyte! :-\

most post that say 1 amp are several years old at best, the most recent suggest 3 amps on the cpu header............. who knows really. Im gonna take one for the team here and do it...................... DONE!

To be honest even though I was told 1 amp only a couple of months ago I think the 3 amps is far more likely, especially with the x2 copper ground layers in the PCB.
Please let us know how you get on with running it though.

A man after my own heart, I like a trailblazer and if no-one was prepared to take a gamble we would still be living in caves!
Trying to get this kind of technical information from Mobo manufacturer's is a bit like squeezing blood from a stone. I don't why this should be as I feel such information should be readily available. Perhaps they are worried that we will all run off and build our own motherboards. :-\
If it helps, I am currently running 2 x 140MM Noctua fans from the motherboard headers along with a couple of NZXT 120 MM fans. I used to run these directly from the PSU but have been trying to find the limits of my Mobo (the GA-890FXA-UD5) which has so far, remained solid and reliable. :D
