Title: GA-X58A-US3R RAM Issue
Post by: d.southy on May 05, 2011, 11:20:46 am
I recently purchased the following;

GA-X58A-US3R
Intel Core i7-950 - 3.06MHz
Kingston HyperX 6GB 3x2Gb 1333MHz KHX1333C7D3K3/6GX

I have installed the RAM as instructed in the manually that came with the MBD to ensure that the 3 channel mode is active.

When I boot up the system the RAM is only registering at 1066MHz instead of 1333MHz. Is there something that I need to be looking at and changing?

Thanks in advance.

Hi

The memory spec should really be picked up from it's SPD which has al the information encoded in it. If the modules are in fact the 1333 that you ordered then it should be possible to enter there settings manually. The timings shopuld be on the side of the sticks and be something like 9-9-9-24. There shiould also be a voltage as well. You will need to enter the BIOS and remove the Auto setting and enter these timings and voltage instead.
