Title: New BIOS available for P55-US3L?
Post by: forumjoe on May 06, 2011, 05:14:14 pm
Is there now a revised BIOS (v. FI) available for the GA-P55-US3L, as I see from PatricF's forum contribution that that's now the current BIOS for the P55-UD3L? As far as I'm aware, the only difference between the US3L and the UD3L is that the UD3L uses solid capacitors all over the board whereas the US3L uses them only in the upper half.

The BIOS revision is, apparently, "Supports JMB363C version". Can someone explain to me what that's about?

JMB363C is for the J Micron chip that controls the ESATA ports.

e-SATA? If the P55-UD3L has e-SATA ports, then that's news to me. The user's manual I have covers the UD3L, US3L and UD3L-TPM, and there's no evidence of a J Micron chip providing e-SATA.

No just checked the diagram and there doesn't appear to be a JMicron chip on the board. :-\

Are you referring to the US3L, the UD3L, or both, DM?

I only checked the UD3L to be fair.

So then, the UD3L doesn't really require BIOS version FI? Or is it that Gigabyte's made a mistake and allocated a BIOS revision wrongly to the UD3L?
