Title: Will my PSU run gigabytes gtx560 range?

Also, after my experience with a BFG factory overclocked card, and what I've seen from some threads here plus some etail user reviews I am wondering if the overclocked cards have had a BIOS update that upped their voltage? Has there been an issue here?

The standard clocked model seems pretty hard to get hold of at the moment with the various OC'd cards available in greater numbers. This concerns me because the 560's are supposed to run quieter & cooler in its performance class and I absolutely do not want to have to underclock, any comments on this matter appreciated - I dable in modding & need a card that is happy to run in 3d mode with medium/high load for above average periods.

Depends on the rest of your system. It should be enough but you won't have much overhead as the +12v line is only 360W. Considering it's efficiency, wattage and your planned use I'd think about replacing it once you have the funds.

I believe there were no bios updates and I wouldn't hold my breath. Overclockability depends on each GPU and some will work with factory voltage while others won't.

For your use I'd try to get a card that's clocked at near stock values ( certainly not the Gigabyte SOC edition ) but has non-reference cooling. What you want is a card that's not pushed to the limit and running cool. These are the most important in terms of GPU longevity and stability.

Thanks for the reply bytheway_r, my system has:

IP-35 mobo
c2d e6550
2 x SATA HDD's
1 x DVDRW

I expect to upgrade the cpu/mboard & PSU down the line. The system will be somewhat cpu underpowered for having a 560ti inside, but it will be safe to run it in the mean time?

I would really suggest that you upgrade your PSU first and then the other components to be on the safe side. I know it isn't so glamerous but the PSU is the most important part of the system.

It'll do for the time being but as DM said, best to replace it soon. Certainly, you should replace the PSU before CPU & MB.

Thanks, that all sounds like good advice.

I'm now wondering which of the leads comming out of the PSU I should use for the 2 molex to 1 pci-e 6 pin adaptor for the cards second power connector. Anyone know any tips for finding that out?
