Hi

The thing is your RAID is probably not slow at all but is being reported by WEI as 5.9 the same as any other hard dsik drive would. Without installing a SSD you will never break the 5.9 barrier. WEI is a total waste of time as far as benchmarking goes.

Besides that your Marvell controller will not work at SATA3  speeds anyway so you are limited to SATA2 whatever drive you install.

I would like to see that. I have never seen a WEI score of more than 5.9 for a magnetic hard drive. Maybe he's having you on ?  ;)

I have two Western Digital Black SATA3 hard drives in RAID0 array  and still only get 5.9
