Title: GA X58A- UDR3 Mobo

Since the problems with the noisy capacotors and teh RMA and new Bios that was experimental has there been any new bios updates that would be an advantage to update to.
 
System seem ok no real problems occasional system lockup/freeze/no response. only cure is reboot by holding down power button until reboot.

I am also interested in Raid as I have two matching HDD's will I get any better performance using raid or two single disc's. Also what raid config does mirror still perform.

Hi Graceman long time no see!

I expect there have been BIOS updates since I saw you on the forum last.

As for the RAID if you set up two drives as RAID0 (striping) that will give you the full size of both drives and more speed. If you set up two drives as RAID1 (mirroring) you will only see the size of one drive but it will be copied to both drives.

RAID0 = speed
RAID1 = safety

 If you have the version 2 Board..........Fg1 BETA is now the new latest BIOS called FG.(up from FF).......can't tell any difference from Fg1...seems stable enough but early days
