Title: Dell 650 & GV-R465D2-1GI
Post by: t_s_harvey on May 16, 2011, 10:36:55 pm
I'm searching thru the forums here trying to make sure the GV-R465D2-1GI  will work reliably with a Dell 650 Precision workstation.

I currently have a cool paperweight, as I had bought a HD3650 AGP card from another company, and all I get is a black screen at power-on, no matter what combination of BIOS updates/settings I try.  Once I hit the other company's forums, I found threads to reports of issues with Dell PC's and the AGP products.

Runs o.k. with current nVidia Quadro FX 1000, but just black screen with HD3650 (from other mfr, I haven't tried the Gigabyte GV-R465D2-1GI yet).

Dell Precision 650
460W PS
AGP 8x
Dual 2.4Ghz Xeon CPU's.

Hi

I have no idea whether the graphics card will work reliably with your Dell system but the main thing to watch is the AGP rating as there were several different ones.

I would suggest asking GGTS for some advice on this problem.

Just enter your email address and click on the language of choice.
