Many Years ago I saw this run on a forum, and while very, very funny, It instilled in me some very valuable lessons.....from water filled cases to hooking up a PC to a 12V power supply.......... :o
And my contribution........Never carry a pc under your arm while getting out of a boat before tying it up first.....say no more! ::)

Ah, I take it that you had a water cooled PC then Allan ?

Diving gear, and 20 minutes later it was and I did!.... never did work again properly, could have been something to do with SALT water!
Embarrassing thing was the 70 odd people getting off the ferry not 10 metres away!.......AA..........What's yours ??

Knocked off a CPU cooler whilst the PC was on, pressed the power button for soft off, then realised my mistake and went for the plug. All too little, too late for that processor. Thankfully it wasnt for the board I have at the moment (it was whilst I had an old board, and thinking of upgrading).
Silliest thing I done with a phone? Putting it into a shirt pocket, flushed a toilet and I leave it to your imagination where the phone ended up, but about three days later of letting it dry, I put it back together to find that the screen was dying (it worked, but only for a short time). Considering the amount of problems I could of had with that phone (since it was infamous that they really didnt like water, damaging just about every part) I thought I was very lucky. A new screen got it working fine again

Hands in case with power on :o and what were you looking at on the phone screen standing over the toilet ? ::)

Yes I know very big no-no about hand in PC case with power on :P
As for the phone, that was sitting in my pocket playing music. It fell out of my pocket as I flushed the toilet
-
Never! ever! flush the toilet with your nose ;)

Being 6 ft 4 and the toilet handle being about two feet off the ground, I didnt have much choice ;)

I thought there would be more fun to read by now,...so here my best one!
MANY YEARS AGO!
In the interest of improving thermal efficiency of a CPU and heatsink,...I worked out a way (successfully) to WELD the two together by the way of a electro-less copper solution............."Ever tried to fit a CPU with the heatsink attached that needs a CPU locking bar to seat :D...........Dooh!
-
That must have been a sight! They can be fiddly little suckers at the best of times without a giant heatsink welded on! :o

What's a human? I'm still trying to figure out what case scenario would have someone carrying a PC with diving gear on in a boat in the first place! It boggles the mind but, oh well... ;D Must be an island thing... I think that makes a pretty good picture though AA.
Like cchaos however I too have dropped my still working iPhone into the john, not once but twice. I however am not 6" 4". I'm probably only about 6" now due to getting older and shrinkage but it's not an easy task to drop a cell phone into the toilet anyway, let alone twice. I'm still not sure exactly how I was able to do it but it sure is hard on the speakers. Both times though I got the phone out fairly fast (empty besides the water for those with imaginations) but it still took me and my hair dryer a good while to get the speakers to work.
So why shouldn't you put your hands in a PC that is turned on? No really I don't have any other amusing anecdotes regarding water and the PC. LOL, Besides the wording I just used. Any water/PC story I have are more tragedies that something funny that i did and most of them are with Koolance products leaking.
No actually they are all from that especially their older L shaped swivel nozzles that were using an inferior "O" ring on them (the orange ones) and that was why they leaked in the heat of summer while playing a graphics intensive game although I am not sure exactly when they started leaking. One time they ruined a sound card with front panel that is not being made anymore and I really liked and needed the front panel for it's connectivity to my electric drums and other stuff.
Not that I've never done something funny around a PC. Just not with water... ::)

Yes! I was living on an Island at the time, the tinny (Aliminium boat) becomes your car.........water is just one medium to kill a PC......the next one is stupidity........some call it hard won experience !

Did you also know PCs were invented to replace women during the women's rights movement!..........the intention was to have an item that did as it was told, not answer back and be sexy at the same time...............the reality is, there just as temperamental, just as expensive and can be scathing with there comments !
" Please insert a clean floppy"
" You have no administrative rights to perform this action"
" you have performed an illegal action so I'm shutting down with a headache".............AA ... bit of a slow day fellas!
-
AA, I didn't know that have you met my wife ????
Slow day here too! :D
-
You're complaning.....slow bloody year here! :'(

What do expect when you live in the back of beyond?
Now, if you moved to another, more lively part of the country, there would be lots for you to do.
-
Haha funny stories!
I haven't really killed any hardware from an accident, although when taking apart my loop to clean it I almost forgot to refill it before turning the pc back on...
Trying to insert RAM is also quite fun when you have it the wrong way around...

I managed to reproduce "Old Faithful" the geyser when I stuck my hand on the power button by accident with the fill port still open! ;D

But with a crystal radio in 1960 ( a long time ) similar to this :
