Just started a new build with this motherboard, everything besides mobo, cpu and RAM is being carried over from previous AM2 build. I have been unable to get the motherboard to POST, fans turn on, power LED works, no beep codes come out unless I put no memory at all in it. Tried clearing CMOS, and the power off PSU, hold down power button power on method to reset the dual bios. I unfortunately have no other memory to try in it and the first local pc store I tried didn't have any machines that took DDR3 to test my sticks in. Any other ideas? How can I be sure which component is to blame before I go RMA.

Gigabyte GA-870A-USB3 rev3.0
AMD Phenom2 X6 1055T
Patriot Sector5 PC3-16000 2000MHz
PowerColor ATI HD5770 1GB
Antec Earthwatts 650W (made sure 8pin PSU connector was plugged in)

OMG, never thought a stupid BIOS option like this would prevent me from POSTing! Init Display First was sec to "PCI Slot" so it only looked at the standard PCI slot and the PCIEX4 slot. I moved the video card from the PCIEX16 slot to PCIEX4 slot in a last ditch effort and she booted right up perfectly! What a ridiculous choice for default display! Hope this helps anyone else that is having problems. I noticed I was running BIOS rev F2 as well.

Ok, spoke to soon. After booting into BIOS on first successful attempt I changed that setting to PEG, let it restart and manual powered off when I saw old install of Win7 try to startup. I moved my gpu back in to PCIEX16 and reconnected everything else I had off to limit the causes and now its back to not wanting to display. >:(

I have a similar board but Rev 2.0... I know memory is very very critical in many newer boards..If you can get into the BIOS, I would first set the memory speed to 1333(99924t)if it is not already defaulted there..I also use the PCIEx16 slot for my graphics card(NVidia)..Besides a BIOS setting I would look at the Memory as the culprit followed by the Power supply..If by chance you can borrow from a friend you could substitute them to eliminate each one..Some power supplies though adequately rated cannot handle the start up surge that some systems need..This is particularly true of the multiple rail power supplies..
That being said I would remove everything that is not essential and start from there..

After thought: also try to borrow a ps/2 keyboard to try..

Make sure that your motherboard BIOS version supports your CPU. If not you will need a supported CPU to flash the BIOS first.

If I read what your saying properly then you can get an image on your monitor and the PC to POST only if you put the GPU into the X4 PCI slot, is this correct?
If that is the case then you may want to try a different GPU in the X16 slot just to check that the slot isn't faulty on the motherboard. If a different graphics card does work then it could point to a BIOS issue and you may want to contact GTS here: http://ggts.gigabyte.com/tech.asp?ClassID=2&Country=U.S.A.&SourceWeb=B2C (It may take several days before you get a reply)
If a different Graphics Card doesn't work then I would recommend RMA'ing the motherboard, if only to have it checked and eliminated as the problem.

I have similar problem, but even without memory my pc didnt beep either. I change my vga to 4x but still didnt post anything. Cant anybody help me please?

Have you checked to see if you have a buzzer installed ?

Yes, I have internal speakerfrom my casing n connect this motherboard internal speaker slot. thx

Right then you need to remove everything from the motherboard apart from a single stick of RAM in the first slot, the CPU,fan and cooler,speaker and the PSU and then try to boot. If it produces some beep code please post it here.
