Today I got my new motherboard and swapped everything over. All seemed fine but i cant get a display from my PCI-e card. I have tried all the options in bios. But no good. The card is ATI 4550 HD.
The fan on the graphics card is spinning and windows update is saying my card needs a update but it keeps failing saying there is no device.
Specs are
Processor: AMD Athlon II X4 630
Ram: 4GB PC-5300
PSU: 580W
OS: Win 7 64bit
Please help as I need to use the DVI output on my card
Regards

Hi
I think your motherboard cpomes with onboard graphics doesn't it ? If so make sure that you have disabled the onboard GPU and selected your dedicated card as the primary graphics option in the BIOS.
Have you got the card in the top slot ?
Does the monitor's LED turn green when the computer is started up ?
Are you using any sort of adapter for the cable ?

Hi
I have tried making the pci-e primary but there is no option to turn the onboard off. I got the card in the larger slot. There is obviously power going to itas the fan is spinning and the card does not need its own supply.
No adapter in use and when i start the pc the light stays orange

What port are you trying to use on the GPU ?
You are not using some sort of adapter on the video cable are you ?

No adapter in use at all. And I am trying to use the VGA but also tried the DVI on the GPU. Just shows no signal.

Hi there,
Do you know which version of BIOS you are running? If it is not the FC version it might be worthwhile updating to it, just to see if that helps. You can download it from here: http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=3498&dl=1#bios
I would suggest you use QFlash to update. If you are not sure how to do that check here: http://forum.giga-byte.co.uk/index.php/topic,2441.0.html

Right found my other card. Set bios to try PCI-e card first. Plugged both VGA and DVI cables in. The DVI connection worked. Post screen came up and the after windows had started the VGA connection worked but all I got was the wallpaper. All the icons appeared on the DVI screen
I swapped the VGA connection to default display and turned off the expand monitors so the DVI connection was not in use. Restarted the computer and the VGA connection once again never came on. But the DVI connection did. When it got to windows the VGA screen came on and the DVI went off.
Confused yet?
I am back on the onboard VGA now as the PCI-e card was throwing up errors and not much worked on the display side.
Any ideas?
