Title: GA-P55-USB3-rev2.0 problem with tensions
Post by: asics on June 09, 2011, 02:36:34 pm
hi all,
i need help with this...
this MOBO+i5 760
4x4 GB DDR3 Kingston 1333MHz
SEASONIC SS-850HT-F3 850Watt 80+Gold
SEASONIC SS-850HT-F3 500Watt 80+Gold

(http://i1.imageban.ru/thumbs/2011.06.09/0830f51ddfcd825080102af1b27323ea.png) (http://imageban.net/show/2011/06/09/0830f51ddfcd825080102af1b27323ea/png)

im testing with prime95 my PC on full 100% load on my first 850W seasonic still rebooting and sometimes off PC after 30-40 minutes-
i changed this new 850W PSU from gamePC for old 500W SeaSonic and now its ok....
is good that tensions in screen...i think that +12V must be stable on aproximatly 12V like -12V
on +12V is most fluctuating from 14,2 to 16,2V
i think that MOBO got bad tensions....
thanks for response

Hi and welcome to the Gigabyte Forum.

I think we have a slight problem with the language there and I am afraid I don't totally understand your post. However it does seem like the motherboard works ok with the smaller PSU but not the larger one. If that is correct then obviously the 500W is ok but the 850W is faulty. ;)

right  ;)...
850W PSU is 2 rail..2 suplly lines +-12V
500W PSU is 1 rail only 1 power line..
i dont know if that tensions on MOBO is good...nobody knows it
16.2V is brutal more by me....
but with both of PSU got it...
now continue stress test with prime95 on Gbit and working good, without restart or off

edit: friend called me ,that 850W PSU is good, energymeter looks good statistics tensions, ampers and etc. thing...so 850W is good..

where is bug?
RAM:memory86+ looks 0 errors.--

Generally a single power rail for the 12v is better than multiple rails. I don't understand where the 16.2V comes from or is that the output with a "no load" situation ? Obviously the voltage will increase when there is no load to bring it down.

Are you overclocking anything or is it set to stock levels ?

that was test with prime95 :D ..pc was on 100% load stress test ,when was pc on full load 2 rail restart or sometimes off server.with 1 rail not...
total weird....
