Will there ever be a bios update that allows the encoding/decoding functions of the integrated GPU (intel quick sync) to work on this board?
I can understand that a enthusiast board user doesn't need the graphic output part of the GPU, but 2x faster transcoding of videos seems to fit into the the enthusiast realm of interest.
Thanks for reading :)

Hi and welcome to the Gigabyte forum.
Firstly I must say that I agree with you regarding the option to utilise the full specs of the hardware. I really don't know if it is on the cards to change this or not but I think it is not something that should be ignored. I will make some enquiries and will post back when I have an answer although I think it would be worth you asking GGTS directly also.
Just enter your email address and click on the language of choice.

Please expect several days for a reply.

I have just heard back from technical support and they advise to choose a motherboard that supports this.:
http://uk.gigabyte.com/MicroSite/279/images/mb-z68-models.html#Integrated (already available)
http://uk.gigabyte.com/MicroSite/279/images/mb-z68-models.html#mSATA (the near future)
Sorry that is the best I can do.

Thanks again. I got a reply from Gigabyte too although it doesn't really answer my question of will it EVER support Quick Sync, or if it is even possible. Oh well. Reply is below.
Thank you for your kindly mail and inquiry. About the issue you mentioned, GA-Z68X-UD4-B3(rev. 1.0) does not support Intel Quick Sync Video. GA-Z68XP-UD5 (rev. 1.0) can support, you can click HERE to check.
